Friars residents overlooking the old Bestyett pop factory site, between Bridge Street and Carmelite Terrace, are enfuriated by the state of the plot. As this photo shows, it's being used by the developers to dump/store all sorts of rubbish/building material, and it is currently an absolute eyesore. The site is part of the conservation area that includes gems like the Greenland Fisheries, and it's shameful that it has been allowed to get into this state. Planning permission has been granted, but the developer seems to be doing the absolute minimum to keep the permission alive.
The council have been contacted and appear aware of the situation: a Planning Enforcement officer responded:
I am the investigating officer and I will add you to the list of complainants in this matter.
I cannot give you a timescale for the investigation but will endeavour to update you as the investigation progresses.
Thank you for your cooperation."
